A general rule is, the more load you put on your transmission, the more it's going to need to be changed. Most manufacturers recommend 30,000 miles for automatic transmissions. So, if you use your vehicle for towing, uphill driving, or heavy stop and go situations then you'll probably need your transmission fluids flushed and changed.
