Check transmission fluid regularly.

Have your transmission fluid flushed and changed.
Again, each car is different. Refer to owner's manual for factory recommendations on what type of fluid and how often it should be change. A general rule is, the more load you put on your transmission, the more it's going to need to be changed. Most manufacturers recommend 30,000 miles for automatic transmissions. So, if you use your vehicle for towing, uphill driving, or heavy stop and go situations then you'll probably need your transmission fluids flushed and changed.
